Your legal responsibilities
As a landlord you must meet a number of legal obligations, including a valid Gas Safety certificate, an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) of at least band E, electrical safety checks, working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and protecting your tenant’s deposit in a government-approved scheme.
